I started going to the races, as a child, I never understood it, but it was our family get together. Being from a family with 9 kids, we used to have a lot of fun at the track, think about it, hide and seek, from the press box to the stalls. For some reason, we had complete access to anywhere on the track.
My father is the reason i got hooked on racing, He had a major stroke, and was not doing real well, I made sure that I started taking him to the track at least once a week, and I would get him a racing form everyday, then I started to pick horses but not bet, I was doing pretty well, so I started to lay the bucks down, and I was doing OK, but I was hooked, and have been following the races for over 20 years.
