I am 39 years old, 40 on New Years Eve. I work at a University in Edinburgh as a Research Associate. My interest in racing started about 20 years ago when I went to a race track with some friends and won my first bet on a 16/1 outsider because I liked it's name. Since then I have followed UK racing, betting occasionally and losing nearly as often. Two years ago, I bought 1/100 th share of a hurdler which came last 3 times and 2nd last once. After
this the owners decided to retire it to grass. I am presently looking for a half share in 2 hurdler/jumpers for my brother who has decided to get into ownership, so that should be fun,as I am his unpaid 'director of racing'. At
least it won't cost me anything. I have 12 stables in sim racing and must admit to being hooked. Isn't breeding the best thing ever? I write the Ascot article for the SRF, do a tip sheet for Colorado, help with the running of the Longchamp barn in Nexis and help with their Arizona tipsheet. |
